DOWN TOWN LUNCH PROGRAM
The Saint Dominic Homeless Lunch Ministry provides lunches to the
homeless through the Volunteers of America since the beginning of
the program 50 years ago. Around 1973, Dottie Nittler of Most
Precious Blood Parish became aware that many who lived in serious
poverty, had no place to eat on Sundays. She appealed to the
Catholic parishes to provide sack lunches. Saint Dominic Parish
responded and has been providing lunches 4 to 5 times per year, for
all these years.
Our next Downtown Lunch date is Saturday, SEPT 9TH! We meet at 9 -12 PM to make 200-300 in the Church Basement/Hall to make brown bag lunches for the those in need. Put us on your calendar and plan to attend.
If you are unable to attend but want to make lunches, please ensure they contain the following: two sandwiches (no condiments, the Volunteers of America will supply,) chips, fruit (no bananas,) and a few cookies or treat. Please bring pre-made lunches to the church before 9:30 AM on Sunday, September 10th.
